UNLESS AMERICA ADDRESSES HER DISREGARD FOR HUMANE CARETAKING OF HER OWN PEOPLE, SHE WILL FAIL IN ALL OTHER AREAS OF SOCIETY AND WILL NOT PROSPER. If America cannot grasp a very basic concept that all people deserve the right to be safe, to be housed and to be given the chance to EARN dignity and respect then all other achievements will fail. If a child is told day after day that they do not matter, they will live up to that poor expectation. Somehow, the homeless feel they are undeserving and incapable of weathering life’s storms. They feel as though if they suffer, everyone must suffer looking at them. It is a Victim mentality. “Look what YOU have done to me. Live with my disgusting habits! It’s all YOUR fault!” They should be housed in Mental Hospitals to learn trades and work ethics. If they choose not to try to get better than they can be put out of sight. We have treated them as unteachable wild animals that roam the streets. They are as they are perceived. If they are NOT ALLOWED to soil the view for others then that will be that. It is beyond Ridiculous what is happening with the Homeless. The Veterans should be screened BEFORE they enter the Military. There doesn’t seem to be enough emotional training to prepare them for after they serve. Also, it must be made acceptable for a soldier to say NO to a command that will render innocent people dead. Killing people, even in War should be a LAST RESORT! It is OBVIOUS we have some real dummies in the Pentagon. Most of the aftermath could have been avoided.
